Engineered octave frequency comb in integrated chalcogenide dual-ring microresonators

Octave-spanning Kerr combs bridging the spectral windows of near-infrared region (NIR) and mid-infrared (MIR) are expected in a number applications, including high-capacity coherent optical communications, gas molecular absorption footprints. Here, we propose novel concentric dual-ring microresonators (DRMs) for advanced dispersion engineering to tailor comb profile. The can be flexibly engineered not only by cross-section DRMs, but also gap between microresonators, which provides new path geometrically control profile soliton combs. An octave-spanning microcomb with multi-dispersive waves has been achieved numerically covering from telecommunication band (1224 nm) (2913 −40 dB bandwidth 1265 nm. Our results promising fully understand nonlinear dynamics hybrid modes helps broadband formation.
